So, due to the interest here in house music production, lets make one big thread about house music production, tips and tricks and also questions post here! Lets have a little house in a big trance world!
Teemu
And here is a little quote of the tip i found somewhere in the net:

"Here's my list of what i would get:

- Good conga sounds or loops
- all the basic tr909 sounds + great kick drums, claps, snares and shakers
- Rhodes stagepiano vsti
- good house chord and piano sounds and some FX and vocal fx sounds

Basslines are important in this genre. Basic pentatonic scales do a nice job for good rocking house style basslines. maybe some sampled real instruments like horn riffs and stuff. Clear song structure and lots of 7th chords. and lots of groove & soulfull vibes =)

Thats my ingredients for funky house."

I want to know more about the beat and percussion.

Well.. as much as I respect the house producers here, this is a trance forum... I'm all up for talking about house, but I would sooner suggest looking to the forums of www.futureproducers.com for better information on house production.

I don't want to sound like a bitch and I have nothing against house at all but alanzo is right, this is a tranceforum and nothing else. I was actually looking for a good houseforum yesterday so I could post the link here but I couldn't find one. Guess futureproducers will be best :)
Subtle

no it isn't.. but it's for trance... not house
Mr.Mystery
To be honest people put breakbeats, chillout, techno, d'n'b and even hip hop up here so I don't see why house wouldn't have a place here. Stop being so narrow minded.
Freak
Well i produce house 90% of the time and have been doing a wide range of styles for well over a decade.
I also have a degree and have lectured in this stuff, not to mention the fact i have produced and engineered in proper studios on mixing consoles and hardware worth millions.
You could therefore say i have a lot of knowledge to share- the vast majority of it being applicable to any style you care to choose- as techniques are not restricted to genre at all.
But as its 'a trance forum' ill keep my knowledge to myself thanks...
God some of you people are so ing narrow minded . (Some of you) need to remove your head from your ass.

Yup, it's not exactly that production tips for house can't be used AT ALL in trance.
Some accents may change, but it's still pretty similar to most other electronic styles out there.

Besides, I think it's useful to expand your horizons, and not only limit yourself to one particular brand.

I had the same feeling when I read the replies in that topic about Trilogy. 2/3 of Trilogy are accoustic and electric basses. Oh no, it's a blasphemy to use such sounds in trance!!! If you ask me, it's such thoughts that make 90% of trance sound the same. It seems to be a shame to be original for once...

So true, all sounds can be used for anything if you just keep trying to adjust.

I am not sure what the problem should be if we start talking about house. Like Nik said, people post, breakbeat, techno etc so why not house?

And this section of the forum is still labeled "Production Studio" and not "Trance studio"
