Hi everyone. I am finally going to be buying my gear! I was interested in the following equipment... am I missing anything (besides CD decks)??? Do I need amps or surge protectors or anything else? I am a n00b when it comes to this stuff. :)

Cheers,
Keith

2 x Technics SL-1200M5G
1 x Allen & Heath XONE:92 (Linear)
2 x Ortofon Concorde NightClub (Do I want eliptical or spherical???... I am playing trance records)
2 x Mackie HR824 (http://www.mackie.com/products/hr824/index.html)
1 x Sefour X30
1 x Sefour Large CD Bracket
1 x SEFOUR X-30 GLASS TURNTABLE ISOLATION PLATFORM IP001
1 x Sefour RS001 Record Storage Unit
2 x Procases Custom Turntable Case (Black)
1 x Procases Custom DJ Mixer Case (Black)
1 x Procases LP-120 (Heavy Duty version in Black) (Has fiberglass panels and rubber wheels)
1 x Stanton FinalScratch 2

FYI: I was going off of www.djdeals.com for reference.

Nice list!

You don't need any amps, because the speakers are active (the amps are built in).

Another thing I would get are some decent cables. With a set-up like that, ty cables are not the way to go.

And where the feck did you get all the money to buy a set-up like this? You must have been working all year for this.

djxtension,

cheers... more than a year. :D

can you recommend some cables? where do i get things like that? what type of cables do i need, and for what in particular?

cheers,
keith

damn kid. nice startup. i am envious of the xone:92.
Go with S (Spherical) needles on Concorde. The NightClub S or the Pro S will suit you fine (I would go with NightClub though)

if you love your records, get spherical styli ;)

eliptical will get better sound quality, but with high record wear. by the looks of the list of stuff you are getting, you can probably afford a pair of eliptical styli as a spare pair for use when recording ;)
Toufas
dont get technics, i think they feel like beltdrives now :P
Eis
DAMN that is some starter-kit :D

good god!!!! Nice setup. Btw, i personally like elipical stili instead of spherical, imo the nightclub-e does less record damage than the regular.

A couple of things your missing: 1-headphones, 2-good power conditioner.

For headphones, try each out and decide for yourself.
As for power conditioners, i like Furman, so check the link:

Thanks for the recommendations guys... please keep them coming!

Any debate on FS 2.0 vs. Rane vs. anything else out there?

Simply put, Rane makes better quality products then stanton.

I use Hosa Cables. They are really tough, and sound great.

You will need some basic RCA cables, like these:

These are needed to connect your turntables to your mixer.

If you want to use Finalscratch, you'll probably need one with a 3.5 mm jack and two RCA connectors too.

Here's a link for more info:
