That would be Level - Good Morning (Matt Darey Mix) on Wonderboy records, but there were no more than 100 made, and that vocal you hear in it is a looped sample that has had its temp dropped.

For me it would be Pervading Call - Destiny (Aces Delight Instrumental), it is a classic but still fairly new, and hasn't been hammered to much, it has the perfect buildup with its quiet subtle style, then right when the clock strikes 12:00 you have it timed with the end of the buildup and have the beat smash right the back in sending a massive surge through everyone, would work like a charm, I'd add a little of my own flavour to the track to give it that special edge for the occasion, but not to much.

hell yeah
pretty much anything with a long subtle sweet break down timed perfectly, so as people are screaming and yelling counting down the new year, the synths are going. then when the clock hits 12:00 the beat comes in

i don't think this tune could be pulled off anymore. but the new year's above and beyond played in 2001. When the clock changed, they dropped 'Dirt Devils - The Drill'. This was a few months b4 anyone had known about this song. I think a track like this would of drove ppl wild especially since know one knew what it was at the time.

that would be hard to plan!!! If you didnt mind stoping where you were in the set to do that, it could work!

Hrmmmm I cant think of any tracks really, something classic tho, for some reason I keep thinking of the build in Fiji that would work... :p

Its not actually as hard as you'd think, you just gotta know how long till the part you are waiting to kick in, kicks in, then choose a track thats not very complex but still good, and use this to drop in before your midnight track, then you would be able to drop your midnight track anywhere in and mix out very easly as there isn't awhole lot going on, so say its 3 minutes into your midnight track hits its peek, drop the track in on your good but plain track and mix out, you will not be 100% perfect so use the pitch very slightly to speed up or slow down a small amount so it hits right on midnight, I've done timing like this before, it just requires abit of planning, but isn't all that complicated, just make sure you ain't tanked already.:D

i'm not a dj, but i've honestly thought of this before and i think the tune i would play is energy 52 - cafe del mar (three n one remix). you would have to time it just right though so that the breakdown happens right after midnight...the crowd would go nuts i've always imagined in my head (assuming it's a proper trance crowd).

clubsolutely
the breakdown of clokx - overdrive (ron van den beuken remix)
Lephaid
talamasca - fifth revelation is a pretty banging track with a "10, 9, 8..." countdown...It'd be rather amusing to see someone sync it to the new years countdown. (chromatone - entropic accelerator has a countdown as well)
