Cari will always be a sentimental fav. of mine.. one of the founding fathers of da swedish techno beats :D
This set of his is featured on his web site.. it's not what you
d expect him to play at 5am in Montreal, but instead is strong influences from his other musical passion, producing hip hop.. hehe
Check it though.. definitely nice listening :)
Cari:
Born capricorn1972, homebase Stockholm, Sweden. DJ, producer and audio creator. Collected music from the late 70´s, thru Hip Hop, Electro, House, Techno and similary styles. The 80´s where filled with Kung-Fu, Breakdancing and spraypainting. Early musical influences are coming from Sweden, USA & Germany. James Brown, Ralph Lundsten, Herbie Hancock, GrandMaster Flash, African Bambaata, Busy B, Soundmasters, Egyptian Lover, Chris The Glove Taylor (early TR-808 and TB-303 wizard). Amazed by Kraftwerk´s Man Machine and Computer world. Then we have Mantronix, Ultramagnetic MC´s, Whodini. All this music got Cari to start collecting equipment for his own recording studio. International and national releases have been made on; Drumcode and Truesoul_records, Code Red, Corb, Proper NYC, Harthouse, FFRR, JakPot, Loop and Plumphouse Records, Missile, Jericho, Influence, Tortured, and Electrix Records, Primevil, Svek, Planet Rhythm, Tronic_music, Experimental NYC, Ohm Records / Telegram, Analog USA. haha.. I can think of other things I'd invest in first.. but if a promoter is willing to book someone like Armin.. THEY can definitely afford to book 3 or 4 techno headliners in one night instead... food for thought ;)
I never say never though.. sometimes you have to take matters into your own hands!
- and I'd love to showcase some DOPE techno for y'all.. not just post some links to sets.. hehe :D |

you know.. I'd love nothing more than to be able to compare for myself! Only since it's been like 4 years since he has played in Montreal I think..
as for him being 'better' before.. I dunno, I have listened to maybe a half dozen sets of his in the last year and a bit and he is still a great dj. :D
Some of his older sets though, like Cari @ Fuse 1998 are classixxxx foreva!! love that set.
if you mean productions.. I wouldn't say he is producing his BEST stuff at the moment but it's always solid! |
