heres a question:
if you were put in a situation whereby you're told that if you don't hit this girl, a random person in the world will die... would you do it?
i'd have to say i would, hitting a girl as opposed to being solely responsible for somebody's death... :nervous: |

in my defence a lot of what i had to say was tongue in cheek. i do have a few issues id like to mention:

girls are physically smaller than guys, as a general rule. but i dont think thats the reason most men have a problem with hitting a girl. i think its a paternalistic sentiment; ie how many guys have hit a guy physically smaller than themselves?? and i think thats fundamentally flawed. you\'ll find a lot of the problems between the sexes has been the historic tendency to treat them differently, which i strongly disagree with.
what im unhappy about is a attitude that elevates the problem of violence against women above violence in general. violence is wrong, against men or women. and i strongly disagree with your argument that \"a man hitting a woman and a woman hitting a man are not \"equal\" actions\". its as though youre putting the woman in the \"underdog\" status which i think isnt necessarily true, and largely patronising. men and women are about as talented as each other at fighting; seriously, without training we\'re both pretty useless. but even if we are always stronger and capable of more harm, i disagree that this gives us a greater duty of care. as i am only advocating the right for someone to defend themselves, im sorry, but if a chick attacks a guy, im one of those people that believes in just desserts.

those questions are all equitably asked if you remove the gender bias from them; ie at what point do you decide that you have the right to hit a PERSON? i simply do not make the distinction. and, i am predisposed to *not* hitting my friends, male or female. we all treat our buddies with more care and consideration than we do randoms.
\"Chivalry may be dead, but morality isn\'t. Opposing violence against women isn\'t about antiquated ettiquette, it\'s about common human decency.\" again, i would agree with you if your statement did not include a gender bias.
i still havent seen anything on here that comes close to explaining why violence is bad, but violence against women is worse, if the contexts remain the same. |

Hey Stips,
You should have pushed her away, to the ground and strategicly in mud of some sort, dog poo is ok as well! Then picked up the closest large object, first pref Wheelie Bin or even her letterbox :) and thrown it through her front windscreen, oh and bang your fists on your chest. Shout some nasty jibberish at her and pretend to place a spell on her that she will be infertile!! Now head to the vet and pick up some of that stuff they use to make cows infertile (May be a bit of an effort to get but hey it seems you have a cow on your hands!!) Grab a nice box of chockies load em up with 'unbaby juice' and go and apologise.. presenting her with the chocolates..
