Im looking for tracks similar in style to
Cassius - The Sound of Violence (Narcotic Thrust Club Mix)
Planet Funk - Chase the Sun
Way Out West
Basically, non trance electronic dance music which is more accessible to non-trance enthusiasts and not so often heard on radio stations (i.e. basement jaxx, prodigy etc.).
Cheers for the help :) |

So basically you're looking for progressive house / progressive breaks.
There's a lot to work with there. |

Way out West can do no wrong in my eyes. Everything I've heard from them has been gold, or at least decent.
Planet Funk is a bit cheesy (or at least that track is), but not bad.
I don't know if this qualifies, but give:
Simply Red - Fake (Love to Infinity mix)
Simply Red - Sunrise (Love to Infinity mix)
a shot. I can't really describe the sound. Some of my favorites though. |

Another question I had in mind is what genre that music was? :)

Thanks for the heads up- will definitely check out the remixes of those simply red songs.
Im basically trying to get a soundtrack together for a party and putting pure trance on is just going to put off all the people not into the scene, and hip hop is just going to annoy me! |
