well if you have a usb soundcard it wont work (although 2.0 it does work) that's be why since this post 2.0 is out just get that should fix everything

Your soundcard must support ASIO output. I'm not sure about all of the details of it but as I understand, its somewhat like DirectX but geared only toward music/sounds. Some soundcards just dont support it. I would HIGHLY recomend a soundblaster audigy 2 card and if you can afford it, go for something from maudio because they make some of the best pc sound cards (but for a price ;)). If you cant shell out for an audigy 2, search ebay for a SBLive! as its about the cheapest you'll get and still have a lot of quality. They are usually around $10-$20 on ebay with shipping, just have to search for a while.

Cheers,
Zac

Way to bump an old thread:rolleyes: Anyway, ASIO4ALL works best for onboard AC97 audio.

if you'd read the site properly, u would know that the ASIO4all doesnt work on all systems...

and usualy when it doesnt work theres not much you can do about it (except if they update it themselves ofcourse)

because, as they say, theres sooooo many types of pcs with different soundcards and different motherboards and different operating systems and such, they havnt been able 2 make in compatible with everything..

i tried ASIO4all and i had problems...tried everything and nothing...and my system meets all the basic requirements too...

See, that's exactly where ASIO4ALL comes in, it basically provides ASIO to soundcards that do not come with ASIO support out of the box. In conclusion, you have no idea what you are talking about ;)

Read ASIO4ALL's website and you are correct. Sorry for my mistake. I use the Adobe ASIO and havent had a reason to switch to anything else. I jsut assumed it was similar.

Cheers,
Zac
