but I need help finding a job in the Melbourne area. I have been out pounding the pavement since last Friday looking for a job and I havn't even got a phone call. I had one interview that Anomsyt set up for me, but they needed a 6 month commitment and my work visa only lets me stay at one place for 3 months. The 3 month thing is making it really hard to find a job that isn't serving or bartending.
So basically I am wondering if any Melb. TA's have any hookups for short term (3 months) work. It would have to be somewhere easily acessiable from the Carlton area, as I have no car and would have to tram it.
Any ideas? Anyone? |

| Beggers cant be choosers mang, i have a degree in IT and am stuck painting houses and working at a service station to get a living. If bartending and servicing is all you can do then do it :) |

Yeah, hospitality work is good for situations like this. You can get a job with a functions catering company, like Delaware North for example, who do the ox open, the F1, everything at the Telstra Dome.
But if you really wanna aviod hospitality like the plague (its not that bad really) then there's always fruit picking. :p |

you dont need experience dude
theres plenty of jobs for people on work visa's
go to your local backpacker lodge and look up on notice boards, or visit a local uni if your in the cbd.

lol. how muchdo you pay?
i never thought of b. boards at backpackers. the hostel we had had a temp agency that took half your wage.
ive looked all over seek, and i was planning on going up to melb uni tommorow. all is not lost. its just becomming a massive pain to find a job. |
