Futurepop?

I heard about this genre a few days ago, and I like you to give me your opinion - and perhaps recommendations - about this genre.

When I first heard it, I liked its Goth/EBM influences. That's the only reason that doesn't make it sound like it has some pop- attitude. Together with the Goa style, it's pretty tollerable:D

Sample?

You mentioned Goa, so I'm kinda interested. :]

im interested as well, ive never heard of this style.. got any links and/or samples?

Well, they also call it Synthpop, but THAT style is actually much older. And it's not so dark as this one eitherway.

Do you know of the group: "Apoptygma Bezerk"

I suppose these guys started this kind of music, in a way.

So much new style nowdays:D

About those samples:

Go here, and click on the 'trance'-button.
Somewhere above on the right of that page, you'll find futurepop.

Ishkur (the guy who made that EDM-guide) claims that it will probably 'grow' the best Trance genre ever.
I have my doubts about it, but it's pretty fun music anyway:D

A Good sample of this genre would be a german group called: Syrian.
I really like their songs :)

I dont think so. IMO, the vocals in those "futurepop" tracks really suck.

IMO, McProg, or whatever you wanna call it, the markus, the armin style will be the future.

I dont know about futureshop, or future pop.

Are you talking about like ladytron stuff? Wait...thats retro?

Well, it actually has nothing to do with it. It might be more of some Goa popsongs with a flavour of industrial and EBM. The lyrics are about science fiction and other 'big' things. (Just found that out today)

Me and a buddy are trying to do something in this style, that's the first reason that I actually needed some more info.

Ah well:D
