That fading noise

Don't know if I'm describing it correctly (probably not) but how do DJs get that fading noise in their sets... the one where it sounds like a plane is flying by and the sound fades from left to right... almost as if in a circular motion.

Anyone know what I'm referring to???

Its called pan on most mixers and effects units.

There is an effect on the efx500 called "Jet" that sounds like that (if I read what you are describing correctly). Couple that with a panning effect and only do that either to the mids or do that to one record while another is playing and you prob. will get what you are describing.

ahh, yes the flange. It sounds amazing if at the right time. Most effects thingies and mixers have them...great to play with
Liam
yes the flanger... aka most played out effect of all time.

one thing beginning djs should keep in mind when using effects

less is more

the less you use the effects, the more of an impact they'll have when you use them

+1 to the Jet effect. One of the many reasons I want an EFX500.
keithos27
is the efx500 the "standard" as far as effects machines go?
