Tiesto - 6 hours of...

...Greatness

OK I havn't been this hyped for a party in a while. I've seen Tiesto 4 times since his first TO appearance, and he really impresses me. Sometimes his styles will shift to reflect more of the "sound of the day" and though typically in the last 3 or so years, the progressive sound has surfaced rather strong, I'm wondering if that sound is slowly fading now. Do you think there will be a more traditional uplifting feeling or a steady "im too cool for music" feel in this highly anticipated night? Lately the tunage has been getting really amazing, and I'm sure in 6 hours there is going to be quite the rollercoaster ride.

Q. What sounds or tracks are you hoping to hear from the man himself???

I would die for at least an hour solid of good dumonde style hard trance, and a good hour of gorgeous melodic epic. I cant wait to see what is going to be in store...

See you all there:eyes: :eyes: :haha: :stongue: :D :D :eyespop:

I'm pretty sure he'll play pretty much the same thing he played at Tiesto in Concert 2, I'll be happy with that - however, it would really make my night if I heard any of these oldies.

Allure - We Ran At Dawn (Magikal Remake Mix)
Origin - Refined Intricacy 99
Alibi - Eternity
Vincent De Moor - Eternity
Alpha Breed - Alien Arrival

There is nothing 'traditional' about uplifting trance. Traditional trance is very different from the uplifting feel of the post 2000-2001 era.
Sorry, I've been downloading essential mixes from the 90's recently and it's really been an eye opener on how much trance has changed.

Yep - trance was awesome back then! But in those days there was very little distinction between genres; it was all sort of a techno-trance-breaks mishmash, and people just called it either rave or techno. It's funny how everyone thinks that all the genre "crossover" is a new phenomenon, even though they've actually become more and more divergent since the early 90s.

Those DJs usually had mad technical skillz too, because the tunes were much less heavy on the effects and the DJs could spend more time doing tricks instead of just trying to mix. I was just listening to a Jody Wisternoff mix from '95 - puts the goofy "scratching" you hear from guys like James Zabiela to utter shame.

Pick up some sets or albums from around '95-'96 and you'll hear "traditional" trance. In '99 it was already on its way to becoming "uplifting" trance.
