###Tiesto @ the World Review###

Rui Da Silva performed singing her smash hit "Touch Me". She sounded fabulous live. She sang another song...I'm not familiar with it.

At 3:30 Tiesto came on...STRONG! Banging! It was jam ing PACKED...with an obnoxious crowd. He played ALL the tunes we expected & predicted he'd play, 6 tracks from Magik 7.

He played the usual tracks he recycles:
His Flesh remix, Insigma- Open ur eyes, his remix of Yahel- Voyage, Utah Saints- Lost Vagueness (Oliver Lieb main mix) :D.

Tracklisting:
Salt Tank- Eugina (Tiesto remix)
Riva- Stringer
Wind Sider- Hide U on Flight 643 followed by Flight 643 (Orginal remix)
PPK- The Resurrection
CJ Bolland- The Prophet
Jose Amnesia- The Eternal
Fire & Ice- Sounevir De Chine
Rammstein- Ich Will (PVD Remix) :D (Trancer it wasn't Joy Energizer)
Pulser- Cloudwalking
Ralphie B- Massive
Balearic Bill - Destination Sunshine (Tiësto Power mix)
Marco v - Simulated
M.I.K.E sunrise at palamos

##Encore## (as predicted)- Urban Train

He dropped Silence (Tiesto in search of sunrise remix)...the place went BERSERK! (He NEEDS to retire that tune...it's had its day. It was the anthem of 2000...we are approaching 2002). The lights came on, bubbles were floating in the air. Tiesto came out from the booth to the stage w/2 signed records in his hands. He threw them into the crowd. Then he started jumping up & down, dancing. He was EXTREMELY animated while spinning. He was wearing a kool aid smile the entire night!:D Great vibe & energy from the crowd. The crowd LOVED him! Mad Israeli's up in that place...REPRESENT! :D Tiesto looked really happy to be back in NYC again.

He played OLD tunes...classics from 99. I didn't recognize all of 3 tunes. Don't get me wrong, I had a great time dancing w/my friends & Twilo chik & DJ Garfield. Trancer it was nice meeting ya. I wish he woulda have played Frat boy- Afterburn or his track Close to U (Magik Muzik remix), his remix of Velvet moods.

This was my 3rd time seeing Tiesto & Tiesto's 2nd time in NYC. This set was NOT mind blowing, special, or unique. It was like every other set he has played. I like my music loud but the system was too LOUD. I lost my voice...from talkin to ppl. I'd rather lose my voice than get a migrane at Vinyl.:whip: I LOVE Tiesto but I wasn't impressed.

I was there also and I was not impressed at all. First off the sound system was horrible. The bass was too loud and drowned out the rest of the music. The light show was as bad as a Long Island club. To make things worse, they kept turning the lights on and ruined the whole effect. I can't see how they could have spent 32 million or even 32 thousand on sound and lights, an end up with a cheesy bubble machine. The crowd was the worst I have ever seen. I spent the entire night being pushed around like a pinball.

Tiesto played good. I'm not saying anything bad about him. But for a number 1 DJ to play in such y place is a real disappointment.
djgarfield
I agree. Like I said in the post in the main forum, like Oakenfold, its like he thinks that he needs to educate America on trance. I like Tiesto as well but, honestly i wasn't all that thrilled with last night or even Godskitchen in Ibiza. I didn't feel like there was even a build up or climax. He did play some wicked tracks and and it was a good start. i just hope that as his visits become more frequent, we can here both new and old stuff in a more balanced set.
Twilogoddess
Jay what did Tiesto play in Ibiza?

I trainspotted his entire set! WEAK!
twilochik
I missed Tiesto last march so this was my first time seeing him. I wasn't setting my hopes high since we had all heard that he spun oldies up in Canada. But it was nice to hear a bunch of tunes that I had heard on cd in a club on a better sound system then my car! But I pretty much stink at Trainspotting and I was able to recognize things faster then some people I was with. So I guess his set wasnt that "fresh".hehehe In general the crowd was horrible. I think most people didn't even know who Tiesto was actually. The people on line were even worse...I had words with this one guy...who had an extremely lame come back line...LMAO. But it was good seeing all the TA heads...Twilogoddess, djgarfield, Trancer. I too like Goddess lost my voice that nite. lol The smoke in that place, combined with my sinus infection along with screaming did me in. I think every other word that came out of my mouth that nite was "What??" b/c I couldnt hear anything that someone said to me. lol The lights coming on at times was a bit disturbing...the only time I'm used to lights coming up in a club is when its closing! It def ruined the vibe! But overall I had a great time! It was just a special nite for many reasons for me so I'll always remember it!
Trancer: When you get the pic of me and djgarfield developed I would luv a copy...can you scan it or something?

How long did he play for?
PVD_S11DJ
Tiestos a weird DJ becuase he creates such an incredible vibe and plays such great tunes (along with his billions of great remixes and productions) -- but its too bad that his sets are *so* predictable. I saw him in Montreal 3 weeks ago, and from what I hear, he's played pretty much the exact same set at every venue since then... lots of great songs, but really --- mix it up a little! :toothless

Twilogoddess - whats World like as far as size and vibe? from what I hear, it sounds nothing like Twilo or even Limelight or Avalon.

NOTHING COMPARES TO TWILO...Not even Space in IBIZA!

World has a small dancefloor w/2 raised bars on each side. The system is way TOO LOUD! It's an older dressed up trendy crowd...no ravers. The energy level was high, vibe was alright. The crowd was very obnoxious, pushing & shoving.

Great review, but as I predicted NYC is to to hyped uped. Only 2 and Half

I saw him at space (Miami) the night before 5 and 30 hrs of crazy trance, He was dancing on the dj booth , signing everything the crowd gave him as they too climbed the dj booth. The tracklist was basicallly the same as you said except for the adding of some sick new hard tracks that I haven't heard. The space crowd in Miami was the best packing the place and dancing for edgar's 2 30hrs set of progressive trance before and until the enf of Tiesto. The Lights were sick , foghorn was sick. And Hereing Rapture 3xtimes 2ice by edgar and once by tiesto made it sicker.

Everything was awesome

I also lost my voice at The World on Sat nite. was my 1st time seeing Tiesto spin - so i was impressed a bit - but from ta's i talked to that saw him in Montreal and Kool Haus, Toronto - he played very similar sets as what i got to watch.
Twilogoddess' review is pretty much dead on - 1st about Tiesto's set and then the setting for the night - lot of obnoxious ppl - quite a few ppl u would be used to seeing at a club like Exit and not enuf that u would be used to seeing at a club like Twilo.
It was awesome to meet fellow TA's and Twilochik of course u can get a copy - i will scan it and send it to u. i am probably gonna put up some of the pics up here in the forums

Laterz evrybody
