WHOLY shiiiiit:tongue3
What a nite...I was finally able to listen to psy-trance on that awesome BOA soundsystem:D.DJ Jarek was dropping some sick tracks as well as the DJ after him(I don't know the name..anybody that went know the name of this guy cause I couldn't stop dancing throughout his set) ...Lots of people out for this party which was great to see including my buddie's friends who came all the way from Sudbury.Lots of black lites which I luv;) & the staff we're awesome as usual.Thanx to Erica for getting me reduced which is greatly appreciated..
Funny that I ran into only 2 TAs that I knew but there was proly more that I didn't know...
Anyway I can't wait for the next BLA @ Boa

dRale, this was a special event thrown by the BLA (blacklightactivists.ca) at BOA, not a regular thing. Hopefully they'll be able to get this great venue for a BLA party again!
Although I had a great time at this kick-ass Psy party, I do have one big beef with BOA. The fact that they totally disrespect the anti-smoking bylaw. Not only was the downstairs lounge a total smoke fest, once it closed there was smoking all over the main room and they didn't do a thing about it. In fact, when I talked to a couple of the bouncers at the end of the night, it became clear to me that this was fully intentional and that they had no intention of enforcing the bylaw and one bouncer even told me "there's lots of clubs downtown that are non-smoking so why don't you go there?" They didn't even bother opening up the patio to encourage people to go there to smoke. Not only did I start having problems breathing by the end of the night, I came home stinking of smoke, reminiscent of the old days of Toronto clubbing.
I think it's time to test the city's complaint line and see if they'll do anything about this. I waited for years for this bylaw, I'm not going to allow it to be just ignored like that. |

Yeah I have noticed that as well & I am surprised that the bouncer made an ignorant comment like that.I am also a non-smoker & I was smart enough to bring my lil inhaler because I was having a bit of a tough time breathing at one point..hopefully BOA-REDUX will read your concerns & will do something about that... |

I'm pretty sure they are already aware of the situation, otherwise i don't think they'd allow people to smoke down there. I was suprised as well, cause as a smoker the bylaw is enforced in other clubs (system, guv) and although you still get the occasional jackass who doesn't care and lights up inside, most people are actually following the laws (myself included)...all i'm gonna say is, if i party at Boa during the christmas break, no way in hell i'm leaving when basically everyone's lighting up downstairs (in full view of bouncers and staff mind you). |

In my opinion i only go to clubs now that turn a blind eye to this..
