you put down a few different genres: tech trance/tech house at first, then tribal techno (with that salsa loca record...thats one of my favorites right now), back to tech trance, then some tech house (with that robert natus record...another favorite of mine right now)...u played a lot of different genres. haha

thats ok if you work it right, some of your mixes it sounds like you were unsure of when to cut the old track out, which is common when crossing genres, i try to stay away from it, but sometimes i cant help it

your mixing skill are ok (besides that one train rech near the end (haha its aight everyone does it once and a while :) ), just work on holding them out a little more(i kno you think im crazy but you can never hold a mix long enough imo anyway :) ), and cuts....the best thing about spining techno is the cuts...i think its the most fun...when the old record drops in sound, or has a little break, cut the new one with it...it sounds insane when you get it down.

my advise to you would be, try to stay with one genre and build up to others...like start with minimal, then light tribal techno, then hard tribal, tech house, hard tech house, hard tech trance, well ok you get my point...try not to jump around....build up to different genres. and work on cutting and holding the mixes out...overall good first atempt!...keep at it.

p.s. - i have a tribal/hard tribal mix up if you wanna take a listen to it.

thanks for the review! ;)I only started to mix techno about 3 weeks ago, but to be honest I am not a die hard techno fan yet. I find pure techno DJ mixes repetitive and lack energy. Not to be mistaken tho, im loving the techno sound more and more but to keep my mix from getting repetitive and to give it more energy I try to mix in alot of these more tech-trancey trakcs...
mixing techno is so much harder than mixing trance/NuNRG which is what I was doing before, but I hope I can get this multiple genre mixing down. :haha:

yea word a lot of djs are repetitive, but a lot arent as well. to me thats what puts the line between the good and the bad.

yea but thing is even supposed Techno gods like Ken Ishii and Chris Varela are so boring although they are super skillfull. Chris Liebing is good tho even though its still repetitive. I don't mind listneing to alot of techno on headphones but when ur in a club it just doesnt do it for me.:conf:

I went through a techno phase at the end of last semester. I would put on some massive set and program hardcore, I found it good to listen to while not being distracting, which is a commong problem for me with other genres especially with live sets, when I hear a good tune I have to figure it out so I can get it:)
