soooooooooo many highlights this year and really difficult to them all, but if I had to select an overall top three well here they are:

1. John Digweed

No doubt the set of the year. No words honestly begin to describe the man's mixing and track selection. His blend of prog/house/acid/electro was the finest ive ever heard and the 'unknown' factor honestly had me in a total frenzy.

2. Matthew Dekay

Have never danced like I did when Matthew Dekay played at sweetchilli. He certainly lived up to all the pre-match hype and played the grooviest ass shaking set. MONSTER tracks (all his productions, including the debut of BAD). The after party at nix's place was also one of the true highlights of 2004.

3. Anthony Pappa

Well after literally being dragged out of the house (thanks lis ;) it was another fine night of antics at Sweetchilli. Pappa another very fine mixologist, served up an awesome prog set with a hint of breaks throughout. Lo-step - Burma (Sasha mix) along with James talk - Eggs are cute blew the roof off.

Honourable mentions:

Two Tribes (21st birthday. boy was IN A STATE an appropriate term at that time. Who played there by the way?lol)
Armin (always love armin's set. URBAN SHAKEDOWN BLEW THE ROOF OFF)
Ashley Beedle (packed sounds crowd went nuts)
Ferry (Best trance set of the year)

2004 has been a crazy year. Soooooooooooo many djs and parties it would be impossible to give them all a mention, but I have had some unbelievable times and been awesome being with the fellow "off chops" syd.ta's, as well as my close friends (sounds YU double before 9am Monday lectures was always a laugh). Til 2005, when the brain will receive an even further battering, its bye for now

2. Tiesto @ Mobile Home
3. Ferry @ Sublime
4. Armin @ Sublime
5. Above and Beyond (minus the scary crowd :nervous: )

im sure there r others but thats all i can think of for now :)
Light The Fuse
DJ's etc
BTs set at 2 tribes was BIG. I will never forget that one.
Sasha dropping Netherworld
Hearing Way Out West and Andy Page at prince of wales, and seeing the crowd that went to just listen.
Being a bit disheartened by some of the main room stuff at slinky and then going to see an hour of zabiela and being a*mazed.
Seeing so many locals come through and do really well.

Personally
Learned a lifetimes worth in a year.
Started doing some more musical stuff other than just playing records.
Up and down year, had some massive expeiences DJing (supporting some big boys international and local) and just clubbing generally. Met kewl people, met big people, met happy people. Cannot wait for 05.

4. The Scumfrog at the Guvernment, Aug.
If you don't know who this guy is, and you like dirrrrty house, then get some of his stuff. He'd made his Toronto Debut, at Boa earlier in the year and because his set was so rediculous the Guvernment booked hi for August. The only regret I have about this night was that it was in the guvernment. An interactive, animated DJ like him should not be put up in a mile high DJ booth like at the guv. That being said, he still layed down a crazy extended set where he looped, sampled, and even used his own live vocals o his tracks. Think Timo Maas meets Steve Lawler and you'll get an idea what it sounded like.
3. Lawler at System Soundbar, March
Lawler killed it. I was home from school for about 12 hours, yet I never went home. This guy is king, and Toronto loves him. Come back soon, Mr. Lawler, you're due!!
2. CREAM in Montreal Sept. 5
Me and a small group of TOTA's went to Montreal for a weekend to cap off our summer partying, and I couldn't have thought of a better way to do it. Sun Sept 5th, was more than just the main party, at about 1pm in the afternoon, we went to a park which overlooked the city skyline for an afternoon outdoor jam with Misstress Barbara. The vibe at the party was incredible, people from the ages of 2[?!?!] to 40 were all out having a blast to some top crazy house to deep tribal. At some point around 8:30, running back to the hotel room for food and a shower, to make sure we got to CREAM on-time. Desyn Masiello layed down a deep tribal set, turned me onto his style that night. Digweed followed, 3 and a half hours of abstract progressive, electro and house. And we all know what Digweed can do. Sander Klienenberg then took it to another level, with the highlight set of the night, had all 12,000 of us going nuts in the hockey arena. Ferry Corsten, played the standard trance set, and Deep Dish closed down the night by playing an energy filled set reminiscent of their previous essential mix from the week prior. By the end, it had worked out to me dancing and partying for 22 hours in a 24 hour period. That's the making of a very good weekend...
1. Danny Tenaglia on Canada Day
Without a doubt, one of my top 3 parties of all time. What better way to celebrate your nation's b-day than partying with a legend? The hype for that party was insane, he'd not set foot in our fair city since a beloved club 'industy' had closed down, and the club he was now booked at [boa] has arguably the best sound system in the western hemisphere, along with a reputation of throwing quite insane parties. 14.5 hours of top notch house music, where danny was going insane with the crowd, coming out to talk to us, jumping on the mic asking us what we wanted to hear, using some high powered flashlights to create his own 'mood lighting', and who could forget Danny making us all sing sketchiest version of 'Oh Canada' at some time around noon.

in terms of events/djs i'd go with:

def #1 was my night with armin @ QBH
#2 would have to be seeing hybrid perform at Two Tribes
#3 Marco V @ Pharmacy - that night fkn rocked
#4 Ferry Corsten @ QBH
#5 speaking with John 00 Flemming about bricks :p

other than that i can say nothing more other than it was an eye opening year, making lots of good close friends and generally having a good time

i hope that 2005 is as good as 2004 :)

1. Armin 6 Hour Set @ Metro City. Dropping Push - Strange World (2000 Remake)

2. Two Tribes @ Metro City. Fergies Set and Mauros Set. Then Mauro playing past 6am and bouncers/managment unplugging decks just as he was about to play Pulsar. Then a drunk Fergie jumping on the speakers getting the crowd amped

3. Digital 2004 - Marco V dropping Bang Bang :P

4. Science Fiction 2004 - Ferry playing Ligaya & Sweetest Dreams at the end of his set.

5. Tiesto on New Years Day - Adagios !

I thought their set was amazing, great track selection and excellent mixing skills, better than Tiesto that's for sure!
