so I was sort of elated but saddened to have my GF turn to me the other day and ask me if I'd heard of DJ Tiesto. Apparently he has a new cd out of something here that's quite popular. She's getting into trance, which is nice. Sucks that it has to be him...
oh well, at least trance is coming to more of mainstream Japan. Slowly but surely...
now to burn a load of cd's at home to replace mr. tiesto... |

aww you poor thing you've got a gf who actually likes music that's somewhat close to you as well.
But this leads to something else; why did you let her discover Tiesto by herself?
Haven't you already been trying to indoctrinate her with our wick3d music? :p
Burn her some Steve Lawler or something :D ! |

While Tiesto might not be exactly what you are listening to... I could think of a ton of other djs that would be worse off for her to take a liking to.
When my GF (now my fiance) started getting into this kind of music, I spun her a cd w/ mostly vocal prog / trance on it. I have found that as long as there is a vocal, especially a vocal that says something meaningful, she will like the song. If you can do something of that nature, you might have an easier time crafting her electronic musical taste to more of your liking. |
