Well after saturday nite at the docks and all the reviews henceforth not really much i can add, except of course my utter disbelief at the ineptness of the docks staff to be prepared for the size of crowd. and by that i mean the coat check. it's been said already so i won't go there.
the nite was in my opinion one of the better shows i have seen lately. but what topped off the weekend nicely was going to comfort zone to continue the party with a 5 hour set from deko-ze. standing in coat check at cozo deko-ze made his way into the club, and you could tell by the look in this most unassuming of men that he was about to throttle this crowd senseless!!! and as usual deko-ze totally delivered.
i don't know the names of pretty much any of the songs he spun, but deko-ze is a show unto himself. of all the dj's i've seen since starting this journey into edm he seems to be the most "into" it. he and his entourage of dancers, his musical selections....as i mentioned to a friend sunday mourning. deko-ze is a drug himself!!! you can't help but get into it when you see him banging around behind the decks. i have yet to see a deko-ze show where the energy level even drops off slightly from beginning to end!!!
deko-ze, mark oliver two more reasons why people of toronto have it so lucky when it comes to this music scene. on a weekly basis we are treated to world class dj's that can hold their own against anybody else, from the number 1 dj in the world, to the 10000th dj.
and what a setting for deko-ze to rip it up. despite the groundless fears and apprehension surrounding comfort zone, it is in my opinion one of the best clubs in the city. the crowd is there to finish off the party, people are there to dance and have a good time. very rarely do you get the gino crowd, or the pushy mcpushies. yes there are the g'ed out sketchy few, but hey you don't have to try and become their friends, just avoid that section.

| We planned to hit up Zone after "The Gift" but I fell asleep in the car when we were dropping of a friend. FunkyFun and Samhouse (being such sweet guys) decided we should just go home. I was kicking myself later in the day on Sunday. ANYWAYS the gift was great BUT i missed Deko-ze again!!!!! Jagr89 your right he is like a drug and I am going through withdrawl............AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! |
