Today at 3pm fellow tranceaddict Max Thomson will be on the proton radio show Perceptions...
SInce he was old enough to hold a pair of headphones, Boston native Maxwell Thomas George has had a fascination with music. It all started with Bruce Springsteen's greatest hits tape and his mother's running walkman. Locked in his basement with his parents' semi-psychotic Beagle named 'Abby', Max would memorize every lyric, riff, and musical nuance. Rocking out soon morphed into an intense obsession with electronic music when Max's long time 3D digital modeling colleague Nick Trebonik would send him his first live DJ set: DJ Tiesto at Energy 2000, recorded on New Years Eve 1999. As Max pictured the crowd flipping out to Tiesto's once inspired performances, he began to see just how much he wanted to share his passion for electronic music. Starting small with Native Instruments Traktor DJ Studio, Max applied the computer savvy he had developed during his stint as a sound effects producer and 3D modeller into the DJing arena. Within months he was churning out mixes as fast as he could get his hands on the songs to make them. Here, he also developed a keen sense of flow in the mix, building on his mother's shared television production experience. Now almost eighteen years old, and DJing under the name Max Thomson, Max is poised to make a jump out of the bedroom and into Boston's club scene. Sporting a slick and widely appreciated style of progressive house and trance infused with his own creative mixing, Max is one up and comer that should not be missed.
