New subgenre of techno, called schranzzz (pg. 2)

Yes, it is true, together with a friend I came up with the word "Schranz" in a Recordstore in Frankfurt in the year 1994. Not true is, that I am now annoyed by the term, I am only annoyed by all the discussions which come up about it, especially here in Germany.
Everyone who uses the word "Schranz" to describe her or his musical taste or even way of living, shall do so and I think that is completely o.k..
Basically I like to call what I spin and produce "Techno" and in general "electronic Music".
For me personally, since that day in 1994, "Schranz" is a description for various dark and distorted sounds in Techno. At that point I couldn`t come up with a better word, but of course then I also didn`t know, that one day it would become so popular. I don`t want to and I can`t tell anyone how and where to use the word and in what respect. Thatīs CLAU 04 was called :"Call it what you want..."
So be tolerant, make up your own mind about it and don`t believe everything which is written in magazines.

| tbh most schranz sounds like , the odd good tune is really good but most of it sounds the same. |

Chris just used the word to describe HIS music back then, but schranz has evolved a lot, well at least thats what I think about it
if you compare tracks from back then (what liebing used to spin) and schranz-tracks nowadays, u see a clear difference, as from what I noticed, schranz has become harder beginning with 2002/03 |

You're probably referring to the pathetic excuse for techno that Remus, Amok and Rush spin, aren't you?
I don't think that classifies as schranz, but I'm not too keen on all these genre names anyway.
When it comes to hard techno, I'll choose Rumenige & Loktibrada any day :) |

I never cared about classification, everyone listens to what he or she likes; it all comes down to people's taste
I was just mentioning that the word 'Schranz' has gained a lot of popularity in the last time; hell! even ebay uses it :) |

Yup :) And you're right about the genre names, hell, that did get out of hand.. How the hell can people be serious when they're talking about "dark epic melodic progressive neo-techno" or whatever they are blabbering about? |

Let me know what you think of them, not many people here are fond of it as far as I know :)
Try www.palmbeach.cz, they have some sets by Toky (= Rumenige). |

| Offtopic, but I guess I should report my interest for R&L after missing them @ Awakenings. I got Evergreens & Everblacks, which is superb, especially with a nice big system. This offbeat techno phenomenon that they represent is quite interesting, and provides some refreshing variation from the usual 4/4 business. |
