Pedro Martinez slated to go to the Mets. Will Flushing house the dominican daddy? Will someone take this guy to Flushing to get a haircut from the teethless asian haircutters?

And I'm not hating on you Boston Fans, but if Pedro comes to Flushing, how do you feel about Pedro making those empty promises to stay in Boston? And also isn't Manny on the arbitration block as well?

YANKEE NEWS
Who knows whats going down...
RJ in pin stripes? Delgado in pin stripes? Beltran in pin stripes?

What a line up would it be?
Jeter, A-Rod, Sheff, Matsui, Beltran, Delgado, Bernie, Posada, Womack

Rotation
RJ, Moose, Wright, Pavano, Brown?

lols talk about treating baseball players as baseball cards. Stein isn't taking a liking to falling short in the fall classic.

Pedro will eventually turn into the closer for the Mets. He can barely pitch six innings anymore.

Hmmm... haven't heard that theory before. Tough to pay $13,000,000 a year for a closer. Yet, the Mets had to make a splash somewhere I guess. For those 6 innings though (except against the Yanks) he's awfully tough still.

As a Yankee fan though, it's quite good news. Subtract from Boston and not sign with the Yankees. Two pluses.

As long as Boston doesn't get Tim Hudson or somebody like that I'm happy overall because I see Boston's starting pitching getting older.

Extra! Extra! Now midgets invading Flushing too!

Honestly, give it up to the Mets for doing it again. It's honestly going to be another Mo Vaughn contract. Everyone and their grandmother knows Pedro's labrum is severly torn, that's why he rejected an MRI as part of his physical for the Mets. If the Mets want to give him 4 years, go nuts. This gives the redsox a lot of money to re-sign Tek and looks like we're going to get Renteria also.

Theo is a genious, it's way too early to worry about our starting rotation. We're in the hunt for Clement now and there's still a lot of trade talks out there, it'll be interesting to see how this all ends up in the next few months :)

The Yankees arent gonna go for RJ, they dont have anything to offer Arizona.

The yankees have backed off a bit, I don't know whether trade talks are entirely off but the diamondbacks are asking for way too much. I remember something in the terms of RJ for Gordon, Vasquez, Hasley, other prospects and $$ to eat up Vasquez's contract...that's just ridiculous.

Honestly, I don't think Varitek is worth the amount he is demanding. For someone in a contract year, he numbers were a lil disappointing. Theo can get better value for his money by looking elseware. The only way he'll keep Varitek is to overpay for him, and Theo ain't going to do that

Are you kidding? Tek's a career .271 hitter. He hit .296, 18 hrs and 73 RBIs last year and was over .300 for a good part of the season. There's NO other catcher out there right now on the market who can hit and not to mention what he brings to both the clubhouse and his pitchers...he's irreplacable in terms of setting up a game plan w/ his pitchers and knowledge of the game. Go figure he's asking for a lot of money, Boras is his agent but he was the nucleus of that 2004 team. He will re-sign w/ the Redsox, they're getting closer and closer.
