Ok, I called the Fairwinds and Clay, both are sold out for the core part of the week. I called the Clevelander, they have room... it will come out to $870 for 6 days, but my friend says the hotel is nasty (Its rated 1 1/2 stars). I called the Starlite, its $150/ngt + 13% tax, but my friend says the rooms there are horrid. The Richmond is $219 a night.
Any help would be nice. |

well, from your list, it sounds like you want to stay in sobe... BUT, if you would consider staying downtown (which i would reccomend anyway, much easier for space and ultra), and want to stay in the OFFICIAL Party Palace of WMC, with over 10 TA rooms booked so far, check out this thread :toocool:

this is for the sheraton biscayne bay... VERY nice, 3 1/2 star hotel, VERY close to space and ultra :eyes:
pm me for details on booking if youre interested ;)

| The only benefit of staying there is that it's on Ocean Ave. We saw DJ Dan open up for Donald Glaude last year @ The Clevander pool party. Have you thought about the Sheraton downtown Miami? |

I'm proposing this to the producers as well. I'm in Miami and will be meeting with Hotel management over at Loews and a few others. I've been told the Loews is one of the top hotels.
A friend of mine was in the business and knows what to say. I'll be bringing him along. Trust and method of payment are the biggest issues. I propose the following.
I’ll set up PayPal so that I can accept credit cards. This is good for everyone because it’s convenient and your money is safe. And for those of you who are tax conscious such as myself, you can use the receipt for a deduction. Interested? |

Im interested in every and any offer at the moment. Anything that will be relatively cheap is what Im looking for, and I dont mind roomamates as long as they have good hygiene and respect O.P.P.! |

I agree. But in 24 hours, no one has shown any interest in approaching the hotels as a group. F*ck it; you can't put a price on a good time. I've made up my mind. I'm going to stay at the best hotel I can get. It will probably run $190-$250 per night. Split 3 ways makes it affordable to most. |

trying to orgainize anything for TAs to do as a group is like pulling teeth... especially at a hotel as expensive as the lowes... dont count on it.... |

| This will be my 5th WMC and I have stayed at many different hotels. Unfortunately all of the good hotels are at least 350 - 400 during the conference. My experience is that all of the other hotels are about the same (all are ty). The ones on the beach charge about 50 - 100 more a night but they are in no better shape than the ones on the other side of Collins. There are no hotels both nice and cheap. The way I look at it, you only really need the room to take a shower, I just sleep on the beach during the day. Cheap is definately the way to go this time of year. |

this will be my 4th year at WMC conference, and it is possible to get a hotel that is NICE and CHEAP so long as you arent dying to stay on SOBE anywayz... which i dont think is the greatest idea, b/c all the rooms on SOBE are small... i prefer to stay downtown for several reasons... sobe closes at 4am ALL CLUBS THERE, space is downtown and stays open all day and most of the morning... so to party all night its best to stay nearby (the drive home isnt so rough)... of course im from florida and ill have my car to take me to sobe if i want... however.... cabs are NOT hard to find
FYI im staying at the sheraton biscayne bay and booked 4 nights for $71 (per night)... so there!:disbelief |

First of all... the clubs close at 5, not 4 on Sobe. If you are just planning on going to Space & Ultra, then yes staying downtown is the way to go... but I love the beach, and I go to clubs on Sobe first and end up at Space later. It is a $12 cab ride and you can usually find people to share with. My friends stayed downtown last year and they ended up taking 4 cabs a day: to and from the beach - go home and change - to and from the clubs. Sobe is where all the action is. |
