Wow, thats pretty good! The song stucture around the intro sounds like it needs a work out, but otherwise its pretty good. Also could use a bit more reverb on synths and percussion

not bad at all.

-I like the fluttering synth thing, but i think it falls off tempo by a small amount. Also filter it in from a lighter velocity or lower cut.

-Also, that gated sound! nice chords. maybe try to minimize the click/pop sound that preceeds each one.

-The randomness of cymbals/snares in the beginning makes it nice and interesting.

Very good start. Post the full thing when you're done for sure k?:)

This is an interesting old-school ditty!

Reminds me of a juvenile, really rare song called "Save the Whales" by Silent Harmony

Neat.

The kick is too powerful imo it drains out the bass slightly, try compressing the kick and bass or EQing it. Also you might want to layer song Hi-Hats b/c all I hear is 1 open hat.

Try something like

O = open Hat
C = Closed hat

CCO-CCO-CCO-CCOC

Overall though you have a good start, the bassline sounds good, the overall sound could use a tune up, the song's a little muffled.

nice.. but pretty generic. =/

this is actually quite good but theres a couple things that it could do with. i dont think the kick is too dominant - i dont think its powerful enough. it doesnt sound compressed which is something you may want to do. the off hats are very basic, maybe have some 1/8ths and 1/16ths going and swing them a bit to get into a groove. the snare roll sounds a bit weak. i would probably change the snare sample to something a bit snappier. if you search for some TR-909 sample packs theres some quite hard snares there. the gated lead after the snare roll is a bit too quiet. i feel like it could do with widening in stereo. open the filter cutoff a little bit more i think. one thing i noticed is that the offhat remains the loudest most dominant part of the track post snare roll when i feel it should be the leads that are dominant.

i quite like this though - you should definitely keep at it.

Sorry to come back to this old topic but just wanted to answer some questions...

{b.s.e.}: how can I make it sound unique and yet keep that trance feel to it?

TonyZ: Old skool? I was going for more 02 03 type but I guess it didnt come across as that, any ideas why?

DjGeMiNi529: I used plain ol Fruity 3.5

thanks
