I was wondering has Tiesto dropped his "DJ" name as in DJ Tiesto? On albums & compliations now its always Tiesto whereas in the past it was DJ Tiesto. I am a big fan of tiesto but is he too big to have a dj name?

It's evolution. Some people change music style, he just removed the "DJ".
Oh, wait, he also changed his music style. Whatever... |

I hated the "DJ" in his name; or any other djs for that matter. It is just such a stereotype of the electronica genre. Dj this Dj that blah blah.
If indeed he has dropped it then that is good. |

Yeah, it got watered down by all the newbie producers who call themselves DJ's when they have never even seen a turntable. |

| maybe its a way to distinguish them from live acts, who'l often have a single word for their name...also i think to do with how djs traditionally always put 'dj' before their name back in the day. |

| if people know who they r though they dont really need to distinguish them selfs from anybody by putting 2 letters infront of there name |

| no i mean just to distinguish them as being a dj and not a live act, especially when theyre just starting out. who knows though. |

Yeah on my ticket to his concert in Montreal last saturday it clearly just said "TIESTO" in big letters, no DJ anywhere.
For the best i guess. |

| yeah, somewhere circa late 2002/early 2003, he realised he wasn't worthy of the title and dropped it. |
