New legislation today allows authorities to immediately suspend liquor licences

There is new legislation announced today that increases fines for liquor violations and gives the Registrar of Alcohol and Gaming more power. The registrar would be able to suspend a liquor licence immediately if it's deemed to be in the public interest.
Also fines have doubled to $1,000 for serving to minors if someone is caught in the club underage.
Wonderful! Screw the democratic process and the right to a hearing. Just shut er down!

The AGCO has always operated outside the rule of law; the rules of procedure at hearings are far below those in court, you are found guilty not beyond a reasonable doubt, but by the weight of the evidence, weight is at the discretion of the board members who share offices , meals etc....with the AGCO counsel.
It is time that someone challenged the legislation based on constitutional grounds. The AGCO is run by a clique of civil servants with years of tenure and corruption to match. I sincerely feel sorry for all the licenced club owners at the mercy of those thugs!!! |

| Its time to have a civil rights march. Im sick of the near absolute control that the government has. They have a hand in almost everything we do now. Think about everything you do in a day and then think if the government has anything to do with it. It will freak you out. |
