| alternatively, you can use a slow phaser on a pad to make it sound....nice.... |

i hear amazing things about atmosphere but tbh vanguard is everything i need out of a pad machine and then some.
i create all my pads using a combination of 2 or more vanguards. as with any synth, do NOT use the presets - they wont do the instrument justice. |

Have to agree with the bit about layering the Vanguard synths...
Tweak some of the preset pads and combine different sounding synths...add a string to a flanging synth or a mallet/bell sounding one to an LFO for shimmers, etc.
Vanguard is nice...as is Z3ta+ for pads.:D |

| yea. zeta's pads are cleaner, more solid sounding. the effect is subtle. vanguard is kind of blurrier cuz it aliases all over the place. it sometimes makes it hard to sit well in a track without a bit of EQ work as a result but it sounds big and wide since theres alot of blurry top and bottom end. i imagine you could go with both and layer them to get the best of both. but just the thought of running a zeta AND a vanguard and having them both play a huge chord (at the same time! :wtf: ) is just too much for my 1.6ghz beast. |
