Well no, but you can't use IU webmail, or turn in projects electronically, or even register for classes.
And about the password thing, the password is usually just the url of the original website it was released from. |

Almost every bittorent website/tracker has either been shut down, or fled the scene in fear. MPAA has raided some large torrent sites and shut them down.
