sorry for this newbie question but i still have yet to figure out how i would automate the volume to decrease/increase on a channel in fruity loops when played on the playlist.
if someone could point out that would be great.

Here is what you gotta go:
1. Select a new channel.
2. Press the record button.
3. Play with the volume knob.
After you finished recording:
1. Select the channel you just record to.
2. Right click on the volume knob you used.
3. Select 'Edit Events'.
4. Play with that until your are satisfied with the results.
Thats it :) |

| yep thats it. further to the above, you can right click pretty much any knob or slider in fruity and in the fruity plugins like the fruity filter and 'edit event' to automate any property you want. so if you wanted to filter sweep that channel too you would just whack a fruity filter on it, right click the cutoff, select 'edit event' and graph the automation or you can record yourself turning the cutoff and edit the event afterwards to tidy it up. |

| do i have to create a new channel? or can i create an event on a existing channel... because the event just repeats everytime the pattern is repeated... is there a way to stop it from looping? |

| A new channel would just be adding another patch to the mix. yes, existing channels can definately be automated with events. As far as the looping part, it might take real time knob sliding (record button). I am not exactly sure though. Good luck. |

put the automation on a blank pattern. then in the playlist play the automation pattern whenever you want it.
then you can play the tune without the automation |
