I know there may have been posts on this i should really do a search but the way you would make your melodies with the piano roll normally would this also be a good idea to use that same method
for your leads or would you continue to play your lead manually or just draw in the notes cause
I dont want the lead to sound like the melodies and vice versa
i just want to know if most guys here draw in there leads or play them live into the sequencer. before they mix down the final tune etc. |

I don't understand anything you're saying...
You don't want the lead to sound like the melodies? What's that supposed to mean? :conf: |

I usually record my leads live from the keyboard at the start, just to put down ideas and get the feel for the song.
But then I'll almost always go to the piano roll and take the recorded notes and draw in more complicated rhythms, arpeggios etc. |

thanks DJ-Igloo and pho mo pretty much asnwered my post
but
Mr.Mystery and dbl
to explain what i meant was i dont want my whole tune to sound like
one melody id rather have a good mixture with arps leads and melodies etc.
so if all i had was a few melodies no one would ever hear my main riff!
so thats was what i was saying. |
