this duo came to play at my school recently and they have an extremely alien, unique and creative bloop and beep-y sound that sometimes echoes of aphex twin and squarepusher and the likes. They are going to be playing in boston later this month, as you can see from their site. download the sample tracks if you haven't heard of them. Questions: anyone here going to be seeing them, already have an opinion on them OR know of more underground electronica groups who are awesome and have websites where you can download samples and learn more about them? |

After reading a comparison with Aphex Twin, I felt obliged to listen to the samples on their website.
I like 2/3 of the samples they have on the website, Koinobori is easily the song which I like best. I much prefer the more ambient tracks, but not bad.
If they were playing here, I would make an effort to see them. |

I don't think this has much to do with Aphex... I mean, the style is more relaxed and the synths are not as LO-fi (with the fact that it still carries the bloop&bleep:D) It's good music, and I also liked that "Koinobori"-song the best.
