Big Snow only and not-so-cold or Big Freeze only and frigid (around -20°C) daily?

| So which is it? Want snow constantly all winter and never any extreme cold or the big freeze and not much or no snow at all? It's kind of hard for me to choose myself, as I kinda like both at different parts of the winter. (Snow in mid-December -- just in time for Christmas -- and big freeze in mid-January) |

How do you handle such frigid temperatures up there? Aren't temperatures like that normal at the peek of winter? Here in Philadelphia, last time we had temperatures like this (-11°C was the morning low on 2004-12-20) was almost a year ago. We don't get them that much, though. Most of winter is right around or above freezing. I heard that in Montreal, you cannot go outside once the (air) temperature drops below about -25°C. What kind of wind chills are you having now? |

| Bit of both is good imo. At the moment we're having about 10cm of snow and temperatures around -2C to -7C.. |
