What is so special about Flight ??? It's not uplifting, it's not progressive, it's not breaks...what exactly is it ? The idea seems good because the song just keeps going on and on without an apperent end. I will still maintain that if Tiesto didn't have his name attached to this song no one would give two hoots about it. Also besides Tiesto I don't think this song is getting that much support from other DJ's so I don't tbink it qualifies for best tune.

Must have been mistitled. They're definitely different tracks!
djpsi
you probably downloaded the wrong track...Push - the legacy as far as i know sounds nothing like Push - universal nation
Snooper
"The Anthem" and "Universal Nation" is the same track, if that was what you meant.

And about the original topic: I absolutely agree with those who say that "Flight 643" was overhyped. It's not bad at all, but it's far from being among Tiesto's best.

Another one I was thinking of is Silverblue - Step Back. Don't get me wrong, it's a nice tune, but with all the attention it got on this forum I expected it to be way better. What do you think?
Jayci
I really like Silverblue - Step Back (Blue Sky Mix) actually. I also think Voodoo & Serano - Blood is Pumpin, is awesome. Flight 643 though, i dunno, i don't think there's anything special bout that one

Barthezz - on the move

i'm not sure if it was over-hyped, but there was alot of talk about it on this site, and i can't stand it. it's awful.  :whip:

If Flight 643 was made by John Doe no one would have been talking about it the way that ppl have. I don't think Flight is a bad tune, but there is nothing special about it either...at best it's a average Tiesto production.

Well, I dunno about this bro... it might have gotten popular for you because there was Tiesto's name attached to it, but for me it got popular because I've heard it few months before I even found out it was made by Tiesto, because it was different than most newly released trance tracks (that somehow follow the same pattern), and because it just sounded damn good.
And to say this track is an average Tiesto production is just ignorant... first of all, this is definitely the first time I've seen Tiesto try himself out in progressive trance, and stay away from uplifting/epic trance he is so well known for. In my opinion, it turned out great, and no wonder I never would've guessed it was made by Tiesto if it wasn't for one of the TA's that told me about it...

But then again, that is my opinion, and I guess you guys just didn't like the tune as much as I did... (different taste in music).

And yeah, that Barthezz song was definitely overhypped, along with Fragma - Toca's Miracle and a few others I really can't think of, since Flight 643 is playing in the background and is blocking my brain membrane... :):):)
Phanta C 2001
TRAUMA(dumonde remix)...god the vocals are annoying...iwas expecting so much more from all the talking!

Ok, my opinion now:

1) Paul, to answer your question about BBE, its status was not b/c it was such a great song per say, but rather for what the song meant to all of us.... it was really like one of the first epic breakthrough uplifting tracks (at least over here in the states).... a lot of us remember some of our first club experiences (or first rolling experiences), and hearing that track. I can see how if you didn't really attach that track to anything special, you'd wonder. But to me, that track is worth a million bucks b/c of what it means to me. And i know i'm not alone in this thought, b/c discussion of this track has come up before....

2) I don't think Flight 643 is overhyped B/C it was made by Tiesto.... i think it was overhyped though. I like the song, not much to it, but sounds GREAT in a mix... its one of those songs that if you listen to it by itself, there's really nothing special about it, but throw it in, in a DJ set, and it blows up! Its also great lending itself to remixes, like Windrider's "Hidden Flight"

I think the most overhyped track of the year was Souvenir De Chine. Maybe not overhyped but most debated over. I remember when that came out there must have been 15 threads scattered about TA fighting over whether this song was good or sucked. I kept saying it doesn't sound special to me, no real "catchy" thing to it.

But those are my opinions.

Trance Outlaw
Rank 1 - Such Is Life
???? Bezerk - Kathy's Song <----- brutal track
That crappy Quicksilver song. I forgot the name but it was way over hyped and sucked royally as well.
