Maybe I'm being stupid but what exactly do you mean by Drop?, you mean a volume drop?, or you made something thats says "DJ Trinity" or something and you want to put it in like a signature? |

I'd make sure that the signature had a rhythm to it and was the equivalent to about 8 beats long at 140BPM, then once you have it use something like Soundforge and pick where you want it to go, now when you find where you want the signature to end, mark it, and then count 8 beats backwards and mark it there aswell, now get your signature and change the speed of it so that it will fit perfectly inside where you marked it, hope this makes sense. |

That's called a liner or a jingle :P |

if its a live performance use a sampler. much easier. if its a recorded mix use acid, or wavelab |

Yeah i tried to reply before, but it seemed the site crashed at that given time.
yeah, I was at first thinking "what does he mean by a drop?", but I figured it was a jingle or talkover of some sort. For that, you can use pretty much any good wave editor program. Ive used wavelab and cool edit pro. You most likely can also do it with soundforge, but Ive never done it with that prog before. Of courese, it will vary on how to mix in the jingle with each application.
Obviously, in case you do another mix, you can always mix it in live. But if you want to get things precise for lenght, measurement and bpm purposes, its better to do it post mix.
edit-- btw for doing it live, you dont necessarily need a sampler, you can always use a dj cd player to mix it in live. |

I'm not sure if I follow what you're trying to do, but if you're trying to throw like a name "drop" into the mix I don't know why you couldn't just burn it onto a cd and mix it in the same way you would an accapella or something...
I'm confused |

acid works perfect for this
