I really like tracks of the kind described by the subject of this post. Songs that make you shiver, but can also be danced to, not overly minimalistic. Haunting vocals are a plus. I'll throw out some examples of what I'm talking about, and hopefully I can get some responses with similar tracks you guys like :)

Off the top of my head, Digweed's GU 019: Los Angeles and Bedrock compilations would be right up your alley. They're just dark and driving enough, without being boring and ploddy like most prog post-2001. |
