Now im the last one to start bitching about the end of electronica but wtf is going on, There seems to be 99% put out nowadays and 0.5 good stuff (the other 0.5 goes to the clasics which still remain). This in my view is mostly only with trance theres alot of good comeing out on the other style which explains why alot of trance djs are incoperating it into there sets. But i mean come on airbase has just left us. Nothing tiesto is putting out compares to silence, Iv heard some good stuff but it stays small and no one hears it. All the livesets iv heard up to now have been repetitive and 2 many djs are getting cocky about themeselves. Whats going on with electronica i mean back in the day id get hyped up at the thought of staying home on a friday night to listen to a ferry corstein mix but now im just bored. Anyways there was my rant i have now just put my volcano suit on so fire away.

I think EDM is getting more and more mainstream attention these days. Mainstream only cares about profit and eventually artists begin to realize their work doesn't have to be ground-breaking to be successful so they tend to get lazy.

ive said it before and will say it again....

five years ago all there was to listen to were live sets from big djs

live sets from most djs include all good tunes, with a few fillers...

and the only way to listen would be get the live set, or buy the vinyl

i guarentee there were just as many bad tracks as today, there was just no way to hear them...

today

there are radio shows, vinyl webpages, p2p networks, trance websites...yada yada yada

and there are soo many different ways to listen and discover music

its a good thing and bad thing...

one bad thing is that it exposes more bad/mediocre music...

it also "devalues" the better tracks making them seem worse then the "classics" because of increased # of times you hear the tracks

the % of good tracks is still probably the same...

people need to go out more, and stop judging live sets!

now please stop with these threads

Of course this is nothing new, people were saying this eight, nine, and ten years ago. That was the true lessening of Trance. Anything since is superficial.

, I've been away from TA for probably a few weeks and it still seems like eternity, but really you just have to look for good things, and if they don't come out well then just be patient, you can still listen to all your old and recent favorites, the scene has its ups and downs.

Just venting man, but you just brought my point forward theres alot more being brought out nowadays (i.e. were being exposed too). In my opinion its the record labels fault, there releasing too much crap and not enough of the good stuff...
