You can't compare this to WWII. And anyway, the US didn't do anything untill they suspected that Hitler might plan to attack them as well. |

Laser guided bombs have an accuracy of 1 to 2 meters deviation from the target. I say that is pretty accurate compared to a dumb bomb dropped from a plane. |

So? Do you really think that after the US introduces democracy the Iraqis will have it any better? The Shiite (sp) majority will act the same way towards the Sunni's, and now maybe even Iran will get in on the action (Trancer-X's post).
The point is, the US invaded under false pretenses (WMD's), and are soon going to leave Iraq no better then when they entered. They will however make some good money from infrastructure work and whatnot, which of course is supplied by american companies.
Point is:
Big mess --> "Liberation" --> bigger mess --> US getting the hell out (with some extra money) |

Bad intel from the Americans. French, British, Russians, etc. So hindsight is 20/20. I think that American/UK/Polish?Other Nationals will be there for the long term. This will not be an in and out thing. |

well, they were allied with hitler, and japan for that matter, who actually attacked the US.
Saddam never attacked the US.
Saddam didnt kill near as many inocent people as Hitler, or even near as many as many dictators that is currently in power today.
Saddam wasnt a threat to the world. |
