Monday and Tuesday are statutory holidays because Xmas and Boxing Day fall on a weekend, the same goes for New Year's (Jan 3rd) this year since that falls on a Saturday too.
Everything opens back up on Wednesday, including banks, government offices, etc.
i'm sure malls will be open tho .. ala. Boxing Day blowout madness sales
