having a birthday on almost every same weekend as melbourne cup day means i got an extra day to party and got an international to play for me :toothless
i think i got oakenfold and chicane at the docks for my 21st :p ... missed chicane that night (and don't remember much of oakie that night either :toothless :toothless :toothless ) |

| I got a pair of technics 1200's off my brother for my 21st, who gives a what happens after that, but i flew to sydney after that for a massive 5 day weekend.... (still recovering) but defintely do something you consider special, if family is your thing then do it, if a fat arse sound system wicked tunes and a 1wt multi colour laser is your thing then do that...I opt for the latter, but each to their own |

Have dinner with close mates/family, then get everyone together and go out on the town.
Or as has been said, house party - only out lay is for drinks.
Either way, coupla hundred bucks and you're set.

But I know a few wogs, so I do understand the expectation to have everyone you've ever sat next to on the train come along.
Just have something, ya gotta otherwise you'll probably regret it later on, got mine in September so I'm starting (only starting) to think about things............. |

i had a party for my 21st, i had a great time :D i never really had a big party for anything before so i thought it was good, all my friends and family, maybe even a couple of TAs were there :)

i did the same for my 21st. i decided not to have a party as i think 18th is a bigger milestone. my parents insisted i do something so they ended up paying for dinner with my close friends then just went out for a big nite with everyone after :) |
