Both TTs F***ed at the Same Time?

Someone I know has 2 Numark TT-200s (she bought them from me). She is saying that both of her TTs are ed right now.

They are both wah-wahing. The pitch is waivering on both of her decks constantly.

I said that there is no way that both TTs would have this happen at the same time.

Is there another explanation?

Sounds like she got lots of dust and build up inside her pitch.. if she doesn't cover them, or they're near an open window.. then yeah this can happen. Though it'd be pretty hard I think to have both messed up at the same time.

thanks.

anyone else?

power fluctuations?

isn' there the like 220watt and 180 watt switch or whatever the numbers are...maybe she needs to switch it to the other one ;)

assuming they both live in the same country, and they worked fine for him the voltage switch should be the same (unless of course she has played with it). but to be honest, that would just blow up ;)

my guess is power fluctuations too. it sounds a bit too sudden to be a fault with eiter deck, how long is it since you gave them to her? if she is in an area with poor electrical supply, you can get a UPS box (uninterruptable power supply) which will keep the supply constant and would solve the problem, although i reccommend exhausting all other options because you wouldn't want to waste her money.

try moving the decks to another location, for example, your house. see if you get the same problem ;)
