Well, I have to say I was quite disappointed with Seb Fontaine's set. Nothing special, I've heard better stuff from resident DJ's in various Toronto clubs.
I'm not too good with the descriptive terms, but I'll give it a try. His set started off with what sounded like hard house with some techno elements. It was a banging (but boring) set for the first two hours, and then got a little better with some progressive house\trance. Total three hours.
Admittedly, I haven't listened to any of his recent live sets, so maybe my expectations (based on his prototype series) weren't realistic. If anyone was there and thinks I don't know what I'm talking about, I'm open to criticism. :) |

| well, i know his Prototype series aren't bad, his best is his lastest new Prototype 4, first cd is banging house tunes, tech-house mostly and 1 song funky house, 2nd cd is progressive trance...i dont know but prolly his set was mostly tech-house, which is sick, but ya i does tend 2 get boring after a while, once u listen 2 it 4 like 30 minutes, if da tunes aren't good enough den its so boring..Seb is more of a house dj dan trance, especially in2 tech-house |

Yeah, you're right. The set did sound a lot like the Prototype 4 CD1, except that it went on and on and the songs were just not that great. His mixing was also a little off at times, no comparison to Warren. I dunno, maybe I was too sobre, but the friends I was with agreed on all counts.
I personally prefer his earlier stuff. Particularly, his prototype 1 CD2 is an amazing trance mix, and the prototype 3 Cd1 is also a great progressive set. |
