Intensify vs Don't Look Now

So I've had a few months to listen to Way Out West's new album, "Don't Look Now." I find that some albums need time to grow on you before you really like them. I didn't like BT's ESCM until I'd listened to it for a month or so, but with "Don't Look Now" I remain generally unimpressed. There are a few gems on the album like Apollo and Chasing Rainbows . Killa is my definite favorite, but I find sitting through crap such as Just Like a Man to be pretty agonizing. If I really wanted to hear some chick singing about a relationship I'd go buy a pop album. IMO this track doesn't belong. Infact, most of the tracks with vocals don't belong. They all lack the energy found on Intensify or their self-titled album. I loved The Gift and The Fall found on Way Out West's previous releases, both of those feature vocals and neither lacks any energy.

So just what the hell happened to my favorite group?!?! Please post your thoughts, rants, disagreements etc.

I like "Intensify" though I prefer Pt. 1 over Pt. 2. It'd be cool if "Intensify (Pt. 1)" were played at a hockey game.

Yeah, part 2 of that track is the vocal, verse mix- and I find part 1 to be more entertaining. Just for clarification, this poll is meant to be a comparison of the albums, not tracks.

I agree with you, Draak. Intensify beats Don't Look Now by a longshot in my opinion. In Don't Look Now I enjoyed all the non-vocal tracks and the only vocal track that was remotely enjoyable for me was Fear. Omi's singing isn't too appealing to me and I doubt it's an acquired taste that takes more listening; I just can't stand her voice. Intensify is a great album as a whole. Mindcircus is one of my favorite vocal tracks of all time. The only track on that Intensify that might've seemed to be lacking was Stealth because the lyrics sounded weird "...below these interplanaterian skies...", "....tell me the planet earth is one big...". Other than those lyrics, Stealth was a great track. Just my 2 cents.

i like more tunes on 'Don't Look Now' then 'Intensify' ... but they're both good albums!

I say their first album, Way Out West beats both.
