USA Approves MDMA based therapeutic research!!!

If you have read the papers today, you may have seen a small article (i saw thes in the Daily Mail and The Sun...) concerning the FDA's approval of MDMA as a therapeutic aid.
It said that MDMA was to be used as an aid with 22 terminally ill cancer patients. We all know that we want to open up and socialise with people whilst on MDMA...which is the key bit of the study. They hope that it will allow the patients to 1) lose the perception of pain and 2) be able to talk freely about imminent sensitive issues, namely death and dying.
MDMA has already been used succesfully in the psycho-treatment of Post Traumatic Stress syndrome.
There are a few things that surprised me about these articles. Firstly, we all know how the media dedicates huge amounts of pages per ectasy death a la Leah Betts or Lorna Spinks. These articles were tiny, only coverring a couple of short columns. The feel of the articles was almost, begrudging...reluctant...to report that one of the things in life that had previously been reported to be evil/bad/wrong actually has a positive use.
And secondly, it is the draconian anti drug USA that is the first to pioneer these studies.
Either way, if trials continue to be succesful, and MDMA becomes an approved therapeutic tool, you can expect a further shake up in the classing of drugs.

even if mdma comes out smelling of roses u can bet 15 umbrella's from a delboy cocktail that our gov will still moan and they theyre the work of satan.
its about ing time politicians lived real lifes and saw the real deal in life and not hide away in a flash suit shaking peoples hands all the time. |

| i feel sorry for the cancer patiens when the comedown strikes in... reason i dont like to roll these days... just not worth suicide tuesday. I'm also guessing they won't give the patients enough mdma for them to roll their balls off, but only feel happy or good about themselves |

you tried pure mdma .. the cleanest comedown ive ever had .. infact id say it was non exist .. the ill feelings i possessed at the time could well be attributed to lack of sleep and food intake rather then something chemical |

i agree with adam. i have never had a comedown from MDMA, i am usually ing knackered and really stoned though, as i am after a night out on the piss. i never have a bad monday or tuesday.
i am glad to hear this news (albeit reluctantly reported) and i hope it will mean a bit of declassification for MDMA powder. |

yes they will be giving pure MDMA, which is meant to be completley different to taking an "ecstasy" pill.
I've found that the cleaner the pills i.e. less speed in them , the cleaner the high (less twitching and clenching) and zero comedown.
Mind you, i don't actually get comedowns anyway :p You might say i don't cain it...which is true, but if i get ed i would have around 3 pills, and be fine the next morning. And when gareth gets ed he usually has more than 6, and he is fine too!

well not pure mdma as in the powder, but the pills here (ie jakarta atm) are extremely pure.... one will last your around 6 hours while rolling balls. The comedowns arent bad, but its the 'suicide tuesday' I hate. I would really like to try pure mdma though, to see how it differs from the pills.
What causes comedowns anyway? I thought it was a lack of serotonin in your body |
