hello guys,

I read this post from the dtourism forum. If anyone from TA that can contribute to this fund raising from someone in Singapore, pls reply to the post:

Always remember, anything that we can contribute to this devastion MATTERS!

dear all,

thank you all for your heartwarming replies

unfortunatly I have little time to write in this detail but I would like to ask you to be so kind as to pass this on.

We, the group of clubs and restaurants I manage, are doing fund-raiser "party" here in Singapore next week. Now, I know that it's very odd to hold a party during all this but since this is our business this is the only way we know how to generate large amounts of cash.

I need your help. I am asking you to send this request to any DJ you know that could play two nights in Singapore for free. Airline and hotel will get taken care of. We wish to raise at least $200.000 by donating all earnings directly to the red cross who'm we've had a close relation with for many years.

Please understand that the market is such that the more "famous" the DJ, the more people we can attract and thus the more money we can generate. I've emailed a lot of people already but could really use your kind assistance to send this to whomever you think could do this.

I understand that some of you might find this a bit peculiar but please bare in mind that I personally have lost 5 friends and their families to this disaster and cannot sit and watch tv without doing anything

you can contact me directly at +65 - 90999205 or email at [email protected]

As the tears roll over my face whilst i write this I thank you from the bottom of my heart

I've spoken to some people in Sri Lanka and they tell me that the most visible aid agencies are the Red Cross and Oxfam. I'm not sure which aid agencies are the most active in other affected countries. Keep that in mind if/when you make a donation.

On another forum I post on, in the past day the members have raised over $8,000 USD. Not too shabby so far. All going to Red Cross and Oxfam.

I sent $20 to the red cross. Its not much but if everyone did this it would be a fortune.
