midi lagging

| hey i connected my pcr-50 edirol midi keyboard to the comp and everythings working fine, i can perfectly manipulate the sounds via the keyboard...however, every key i press on the keyboard takes about half a second until i actually hear it on the computer speakers....also, i have it connected via the old usb (not 2.0) is this why its lagging? also, my current system is a 700mhz AMD is this why also? if it is, then its ok because i am getting a 3.0 Ghz soon....any ideas anyone? |

That happens with Wireless PC keyboards on FLStudio, I don't know what the cause of it is though :(.
USB 1.0 could be your problem. |

Buffer time. Don't know which program you are using, but you should turn down the buffer length. (if your pc can handle it).
Be sure to put your soundcard on ASIO mode when producing as well. |
