Man, am I the first one to get home and check the forum tonite?? haha...Tiesto was awesome, the night was great, good music, good people. The thing i really liked about Godskitchen is that they didn't try to packed too many people in the palladium so we all had amble space to move about.
Two thumbs down for the countdown tho! I didn't know what the hell happened there, sure didn't feel like a new year countdown to me.
Anyway, hope everyone got back safe and those still out there - party hard! lates... |

We sat in the lower vip area the whole nite and watched Tiesto do his thing. His 9p-11:45p set was OK, maybe he was warming up the crowd. Then Juliette and the Licks comes on and starts bangin some hard core rock. It was Juliette Lewis' band! She has decent vocals and it was definately an energetic performance. The countdown sucked because it was midway through one of their songs, and all of a sudden they cut it short to do the 10-9-8 countdown. It didn't really feel like a countdown. Then Tiesto comes back on and lays down a bad-ass track and never lets up for the next 3 hours. It was really cool to see the crowd go nuts during some tracks. Definitely a very enjoyable set.
It was my first time at the Palladium and when we got there at 10:00pm, there were lines down the block. The parking situation sucked, the lot attendant wanted $40 even though the sign said $20!! We parked 1 block down for only $10. Anyways I would give the club an overall 7/10 for layout, 3/10 for lighting (too bright, not enough special effects lighting), 7/10 for sound, 8/10 crowd/vibe, and Godskitchen a 9 for bringing Tiesto.
What a way to bring in the New Year. Did anyone go to HOB afterwards??? |
