Hey DJ Culture - it's kind of traditional when you are trying to accuse someone of being a moron on an internet forum, to actually do your homework before you hit the 'submit button ... and I have to tell you and Firestarter that you have lucked out big time. Partly for starting flame wars with nice TA's like Ur Dream Grl and ABTsportsline, and mostly for not knowing jack about what you are talking about.
With regard to these so called flying cars, lets set a few things straight for you cynics. Since the WTC attacks and the related loss of public confidence in the airlines, there has been a MASSIVE surge in interest in small, personalised aircraft that combine airliner speeds with car convenience. Just last week, Eclipse Aviation (www.eclipseaviation.com) took an order for 1,000 aircraft from an unnamed buyer that's planning to set up a USA-wide network of air charter aircraft not dissimilar to your local taxi service - you call, they collect and deliver you to your destination, apparently for the same price as an airline could do it. Richard Noble, the guy behind Thrust SSC - the first car to break the sound barrier - is behind a similar concept here in the UK (www.farnborough-aircraft.com) and there are some VERY big companies backing his plans.
The afore mentioned Moller Skycar is in the flight testing phase at the moment, we should be seeing them on the streets of the USA within 3 or 4 years.
None of these companies are small time dreamers - there is big money involved. The US government, a lot of European governments and some of the biggest companies in the world are backing these things to the hilt, mostly because they are the only truly effective way anyone's thought of to get rid of cars from city streets forever. And of course, terrorists can't take out skyscrapers with them. Yeah they're gonna be expensive at first and the initial demand will be driven by executives that used to travel business class, but not nearly as much as you think. The Eclipse jet is supposed to cost about $500,000. I've seen the cost analysis for the Skycar myself, and as I previously said it has the potential to be sold for around $40,000 to $50,000 if the numbers of buyers are there.
It's not even going to be a 10 year, let alone 20 year, time frame before these things are on the streets in large numbers.
I hate to be all techie and know-it-all, but this sort of thing happens to have been my line of work for most of the last 6 years, trust me on this one OK? :D |

there is this AI'ed computer that actualy thinks like a human...
he is now at like a stage where he is about 10 (thinks like a 10 year old), and well thats my imagination for ya...
now my predictions:
-i'll be 37...
-i'll have a car (preferable a Hummer and somthing more "civilian like")
-the flying car is doubtfull, more likly cars that drive themselvs...
(wheres the fun in that?!?!?!)
-i'll still listen to trance(never stop!!!)
-there will be an educated israeli generation of clubbers that don't listen to most of the crap thats in partys today...
-oh and i'll have a "disco room" in my house, a sound isolated room where i'll have some bichen' equp. and i'll mix all day long...

I said that firestarter was an idiot, NOT for his mental capacity but for the fact he openly (and harshly) criticized someone's OPINION in a thread about the future... Then i made a joking statement about Dream Grl's predictions "always come true"....
Then, (*get this!*) i made a cute rebuttal that "you know what, i'm going to go buy my OWN flying car in 10 years! whaddaya think of THAT!???" Let me emphasize the sarcasm here.
ok, cultureman.... notice nowhere in my post did I predict anything...
...oh, and daft-boy..... i was not aware that the # of years away is 60 for the flying car? Did you go to the College of Flying Cars to learn that one? "ABTsportsline" is actually a company that makes highline performance products and body kits for VW and Audi.... I just stole their logo off their website and put it up... heheh, don't tell their lawyers ;)

since I'd be deaf by then.....I'd have just had a microscopic hearing aid installed..........to my new non-etarded brain........that was grown in a monkey's head........
no animals would be hurt during the development of these wonders.....for all you greenpeacers......okay maybe a couple.
once installation is complete......
I'll be activating some trance music.......set to maximum volume; by voice recognition or thought recognition for that matter.......
and I'll go deaf all over again. (with pleasure)
