computer problem!!

| well my friend downloaded a a song from morpheus and then after that song was done downloading all my mp3 files changed in to weird looking files. Like the ending of every song ended with the file extension .vbs????---And the icon is different. I can play the songs but must open winamp and select by folder??I don't like it. An example of a file name is__>dave joy - first impression.mp3.vbs and when I try to remove the .vbs to make it a normal mp3 it say there already is a file named that??what do I do if you know computers out there well because I am good woth directions...Thanks and laters |

| vbs is a visual basic script, probably added on to the mp3, you will have to delete them as its probably a virus or a trojan. id advise you to get a virus scanner from http://tucows.com |

| Hate to tell ya this but u prolly have a virus. I would run a virus scan and check to see. the vbs is a visual basic script extention where a lot of viruses come from. and i've heard from TSS that 20% or 1/5 of all the files on Kazaa and Morpheus had a virus on it. Hope this helped ya |

yup you better scan and check to see if you have a virus. People like to hide vbs extensions with something like .mp3.vbs
Kaazaa does this as it doesn't show the last vbs extension. Just do a system scan with your antivirus software. |

My computer freezes EVERY time i try to boot it up..... it will only boot up without freezing in safe mode, where i obviously can't do anything. I can't even use it really....
Is this a virus or a hardware/software problem? It was working fine yesterday, then all of a sudden while i was using it, it froze. Then thats when i tried to reboot it like 22 times, and it freezes EVERY time at boot up (always at a different part of boot up though).
Thanks for any suggestions!

i also have a problem wit my computer, every time i use nero, it crashes :whip:, i've wasted like 10 cds trying to fix it, grrrrrrr (i know about the simulation, but i keep thinking that i fixed it but, each time, no...). some history, i just got a new computer about a month ago, had adaptec on it for a couple days cos i didn't have the crack for nero yet. then i unistaleed adaptec and installed nero. on my old computer (which had ALOT less memory), nero worked pretty good. but now, every time i try and burn a cd, around 10 to 20 % finished, it either gets a fatal exeption error, or the screen just goes black, freezes, and i have to reboot. i have the buffer set at 40 megs, that should be enough, i think. anybody had similar problems?
sorry abt, i cant really help wit your problem, unless maybe u can find a bootup disk hidden somewhere? anyway, good luck...
trancealot, r u on a network? is your hard drive set to "share"? jus wonderin... cos i was plagued by viruses for a while too. since i unshared my hard drives over our network, and cleaned off the worms, ive been fine :)
