Download the excel speadsheet and sort by whichever...(default is Record Number)

I usually first sort by style/speed - trance, house, etc... cheese - then sort by record label/number within each case...

I find it easy to find records like that.

At home: A-Z by artist, with an Excel spreadsheet listening 'em all by artist/title/label/remix/key. Comes in very useful when I need a particular track in a particular key, as I've over 1000 records. ;)

Playing out: by key, starting at the front of the box with C and then with Db behind C, continuing to rise chromatically upwards until you reach B at the back. Matches the keys of a piano, which makes it easiest for me to locate the right record at the right time. :D

ah :(

I have mine unsorted, just stored randomly, I have some in my sister's room where my PC is at the moment (still building and setting up her own PC atm and not finished the networking), I have some in the understairs cupboard and I have almost all in my bedroom, you have to see pics guys, its fecking mad :| - I am eventually planning on sorting by label I would say, label is probably the best way of sorting them, I have over 2800 of the bastards and its SO hard to find something right now :( mind you the most newest stuff is kept by my decks in my sister's room atm.

Makes sense for you to do it that way...you almost have to archive your collection!

I've got mine in 3 rows 120-130, 130-140, and 140+

Right now since my collection is somewhat managable, I usually put my favorite 10 tracks first in the case, then intro/buildup tracks, then peak tracks, then closeout/epic tracks. If there's room I'll put in some classic stuff just in case.

I like the Excel idea though. It'll come in handy when I amass a bigger collection.

life's too short to organise my records :D

I know it makes no sense at all, but I put them in the order I bought them. It sounds weird but I don't have much trouble - I guess I'm just used to it.

Over the holidays I made a spreadsheet with all my records on it. I've had a few incidents of buying the same record twice, which really pissed me off. If I'm buying records online it comes in handy.
