Rob, Boa obtained a special occasions permit for NYE weekend.
There is never alcohol at the club due to the 1am start time, and the goal of it being a true afterhours.
I'm still couch surfing after what Hush did to me on Sunday night, where Demi made an appearance on the decks and layed down some more sweet beats.
Rony, Carey, Erica, Justin, Jeff, and all the other great people at Boa made this weekend the perfect compliment to a stellar year of nights well spent. |

Who won that contest anyway? I heard Cuzo was up for free admission for the year.... |
nope, or at least he shouldn't be.
Sly_Guy definitely had him beat in the amount of time spent at the club. If fact I was there longer than Frank. |

| I know the concept of an afterhours. I know they are trying to be Montreal style but you see i remember industry where i could drink until 2 and enjoy the rest of the night afterwards. Thats what id like to see happen. Some of us like our drinks. |

Sounds to me like you want Boa to be more like the Guvernment. I hope and pray that never happens...
Boa opens at 1 am - it would be a waste to get a liquor license and equip the place to serve alcohol for just one hour. Not only is it a waste of money but Boa simply doesn't want to attract a bunch of boozehounds. You want to drink? Pre-drink! People do it all the time, not just for after-hours clubs, but to save a lot of money at regular clubs. Capiche?
As for more trance: I don't speak for Boa or its staff, but it's time to take off the rose-tinted glasses and see that trance events don't have the same potential for success as house events. I don't want to say that trance is stale or anything, but if you want to see more trance at Boa, then give them a reason to bring more trance - bring people with you! Do your part to help make those nights a success and you will see more of them. TranceAddict alone doesn't have enough active members to pack the place.
Rony: it's we that owe you the thanks for waking up Toronto's club scene and bringing us such an amazing place to party. The sound is dynamite, the talent has been top class, but most important of all, you've kept your promises and looked after your crowd - something so often forgotten in clubland. It's Boa's attitude that makes them great. |

I had always liked Boa before this past weekend, but after New Year's Eve weekend, I can now call it home. You put on an event like no other. As I read in someone else's review, if clubbers decided to put together a New Year's Eve event, it would have been exactly like the one you put on.
The memories of parties I've been to at Boa this year far outshine the memories I have of any other party I've ever been to. I can't wait to see what you guys have in store for 2005! :eyespop: |

I think the NYE party will go down in history for some of us, and we owe all that to Boa's great staff; Rony, Carey, Erica, and so many more right down to the smallest person involved.
Every weekend, Boa never fails impress. You build a repuation that is truly unbreakable.
I hope that 2005 will be just as successful for Boa as it was on new years.
Thank you for your generousity. |
