Simply Bangin' presents
The Review
"The World's Best In House"
@ The Sullivan Room
January 29th, 2005!!!
The Review, now a bi-monthly event, will set the new standard in New York for proper House Music. We will be flying in the world's best in house, tech-house, deep house, and just about any type of the beautiful 4x4 beat. The venue chosen has catered to this sound for a long time and is known world wide for being one of the most decorated and respected clubs in NYC. Some may remember the first edition back in September when we brought in house legend Charles Feelgood. Here's who we thought would set the tone for the latest Review!
East Coast Boogiemen (Odds and Ends, Aroma, Amenti, All World, DC)
Dj Bali (Mixed Elements,Release, DJBali.com, SF)
Dj Fame & James Miller Junior (SimplyBangin, TopDJGear.com Columns of Knowledge, NYC/CT)
EAST COAST BOOGIEMEN(Odds and Ends, Aroma, Amenti, All World, DC)

As the celebrated tag-team duo East Coast Boogiemen, partners Ken Christensen and Juan Zapata have received critical praise across the globe for their innovative brand of funky house music. Adopting an unusual setup with six turntables and two mixers, Zapata and Christensen use their exceptional musical talent to weave diverging elements into an amazing listening experience.
Their extraordinary live performances showcase their wildly unique, multi-layered sets and on-the-spot remixes, all the while maintaining an unyielding energy that works the dance floors into a frenzy. With releases on labels from Moonshine to Astralwerks and celebrated French house label Brique Rouge, the duo has been producing music at an astonishing rate, with every new single generating massive industry buzz and record label interest.
DJ BALI (Mixed Elements,Release, DJBali.com, SF)

That's right folks, the west coast's new leader in house and progressive takes time out of the studio and out of his residencies at some of San Fran's biggest nights to let us indulge in the champion music... house. Having already played in major cities throughout the US and Ibiza, Spain Bali is more than welcomed to the North East
BaLi's rise on the DJ scene has been nothing short of spectacular. Just three years into his DJ career, BaLi has already headlined at both of San Francisco's première dance clubs, Ruby Skye and 1015, more than a dozen times. He has established residencies with Martel & Nabiel's Square Party at Ruby Skye as well as their Release Party at 1015. He also has a residency with Mixed Elements, gigging regularly for them at other trendy San Francisco clubs and lounges.
DJ FAME & JAMES MILLER JUNIOR(SimplyBangin, TopDJGear.com Columns of Knowledge, NYC/CT)

James Miller Junior + DJ Fame's celebrated performances at legendary super clubs worldwide, naming a handful, Ruby Skye (San Francisco), Level (Miami, FL), SFINX (Poland), Tunnel (Washington DC) Ikon (formerly Exit Nightclub, NYC), Decadance (Gent, Belgium), Mor Bar (Santa Monica) and Sullivan Room (NYC) has clutched a devoted fan base for these two late night magicians of the funky, the clubby, the tribal and the deep. Additional invitations to DJ at colossal North American festivals and raves such as Winter Music Conference (Miami), World Electronic Music Festival (Toronto), 1 Nation (New York) Caveman (St Louis), Pims Hos + Limos (Cleveland) have given them the experience to rock any crowd, and that's precisely what they do.

updated bio:
East Coast Boogiemen
The last 8 years of diligent work have paid off for Ken Christensen and Juan Zapata, otherwise known as East Coast Boogiemen (or ECB for short). As touring DJs they have been booked throughout the United States, Canada, Costa Rica, Mexico, Spain, Norway, Germany, UK, Belgium, Australia, New Zealand, Columbia, Korea and Brazil. Their endless releases of mixed promotional tapes and expansive fan base had them playing across the globe before they ever had an actual record release. Both of them were DJs before they met in 1997 and both are experienced producers and trained musicians. These skills naturally led them to create their own music as well as launching their own Washington DC based record label Odds and Ends Music (founded in 2002) and The Junkyard Studio's (1997). Their current productions can be found across 22 Major and Independent Music labels throughout the world.
ECB have appeared in various publications including URB Magazine, Mix Mag, BPM Magazine, Remix, DJ Magazine, XLR8R, Huge Magazine, Plan 9 Magazine, Inner Loop Magazine and many others. They were voted as one of the Next 100 DJs in 2000 by URB Magazine…a sentiment that has remained true these last 4 years as they remain cutting edge producers, remixers and djs.
ECB have produced a plethora of music on international labels: Aroma (Belgium), Amenti (SF), Lowdown (San Diego), Brique Rouge (France), Classic (London), Afterschool (Los Angeles), Moonshine (Los Angeles), Select (Dallas), Peaches (Chicago), Oomph (Toronto), Deep Funk (Los Angeles), Nightshift (SF), Tequila Sound (DC), Planetary (VA) and Far East (Korea).
Remix Credits include work on labels such as: Vanguard (LA), Astralwerks (NY), Amenti (Belgium), Robsoul (France), Safe In Sound (SF), Diesel Traxx (SF), Dust Traxx (Chicago), Aftershcool (LA), Aroma (Belgium), Brique Rouge (France) and Odds and Ends Music (DC).
Their music has also been licensed to such great CD's as: Mark Farina and Derrick Carter “Live At OM” on Om records (SF), Jay J and Miguel Migs “West Coast Sessions” on NRK (England), DJ Heather “Dancefloor Principles” on Nordic Trax (Vancouver), DJ Heather “International AllStars” on Mix Magazine (UK), Kwality Batofar on Families (Paris), Brique Rouge 3 “May The Brique Be With You” on Brique Rouge (France), Planetary 9 on Planetary Records (VA), M3 “Live at Washington DC” on Monkeystyle Music (Washington DC).
This is just a taste of what these two highly talented and entertaining DJs have done over the last 10 years. We could list all the cities and clubs they constantly frequent worldwide but that would make up a book.
