Of course, don't forget to apply for financial aid.
You'll be in debt for a while, but at least it will help you pay for tuition. |
financial aid AND esp. scholarships def...private institutions have soo many resources it isnt funny. and SUNY gets cut back EVERY f0ckin year (damn u Pataki) -- less likely ull receive financial aid there -- u and ur parents can start researching now |

If she wants to live in the city (or does she just wanna live in New York State??), Binghamton is obviously a bit far, guys. For Stony Brook she will have to live in the dorms there (where else is she gonna get an apt in Suffolk county??) and then drive to the city when she wants to.
Bing and Stony are not for those who are moving to the city to be IN THE CITY. I dunno, maybe she just wants to be in the general vicinity of NYC? but they seem a little out of the way to me |

| And for the record, I gave a lot of thought to the colleges I applied to. However, the school I went to, I seriously applied to it for s and giggles :toothless |

Yea, I would say: some N Jersey/Hoboken colleges (not too sure which), Brooklyn College, Queens College, Baruch (for business only)
No: Binghamton, Stony Brook, etc. <--- are middle of nowhere |

Well she laid it out pretty well about what she wants to do and yall are rambling about schools she cant afford with grades she doesnt quite have as well as school that have NOTHING to do with the major she said she is looking into. |
actually she said she's undecided (pre med was a mere consideration) hence the broad spectrum of suggestions.
and, even if her grades are slightly subpar she might have other things going for her which might not preclude a grab at the top schools in the area. |

I remember my interview for Tufts:
"If you get into UPenn, Columbia and Cornell you should go there instead of Tufts. Also, since you're not psycho, I'll put in a good word for you!" |

One more thing about the premed thought.
Raversurge and another friend of mine go to Brooklyn College for premed. Maybe PM Raversurge and ask about the school in general? |

hey guys...as soome of you know, i'm interested in moving up to NY. i'm just an average student from atlanta and i'd really like to have a good reason to go up there. to me, school is a good enough reason to move up to NY. i don't have loads of money pouring out of me or my parents, and i'm not a genius....so based on this, i need help recognizing nice or decent colleges/universities in new york considering they are inexpensive & in a fairly inexpensive living area.
i would greatly appreciate...apps are almost due..ahhh! |
How old are u?? Im guessin you are comin str8 outta HS and want to come to NYC from Hotlanta.. if that is the case forget about pre-med and study anythin to get by wit for a year or 2 til u can transfer to a better school.. by that point u may actually decide what u really wanna do with urself.. im 22 and i still have no clue what i am doin besides sellin jewelry and makin music..
If u would be transfering from a college already then it would be a diff story.. u prob already would have the grades to get in somewhere decent for pre-med.. i think u should just apply to the above mentioned schools in the ny area and see what happens.. then take it from there :D |
